FAQs
What is DTG?
Direct-to-garment (DTG) is a method where a digital printer is used to print a design directly onto a garment using inkjet technology.
How durable is DTG?
DTG is more durable than DTF, and comparable to Screen printing. In most cases if the garment is taken care of the design will outlast the fabric.
How durable is Airbrush?
If taken care of, the artwork on the shirt will remain on the shirt forever. The vibrancy will fade with every wash, however.
How do I wash my DTG items?
We recommend washing any DTG in cold water and to tumble dry.
How do I wash my Airushed items?
Turn garment inside out, wash in cold water. NO BLEACH. Tumble dry, or air dry.
Can you print ANY picture we give you?
Long answer short, YES. However, keep in mind that we are not miracle workers. If the picture is blurry or faded there is only so much we can do to enhance that picture.
80/20 Custom Apparel originated in a 14ft X8ft pull behind trailer.
We started this whole journey with a mobile airbrush trailer and a spot at the North Carolina State Fair. Owner, Michael Phetakoune, has been in the airbrush business for over 20 years. Making his experience in this profession matched only by his father (who has been airbrushing for 40 years). As exciting as it is working 14 hour shifts for 2 weeks straight, we wanted a way to make our business more local and permanent. Always trying to find new and better ways to improve our products, we found ourselves investing in printing equipment. Some failed experiments later, we perfected our printing techniques and landed on the Direct to Garment method. Being able to serve local businesses with fast and high-quality prints was the new dream. A few decisions later, we found ourselves able to open a custom apparel store in the front of Myrtle Beach's biggest Walmart. Now we get to focus on all of our locals, businesses and tourists. Our next goal is to be able to bring you more customizable items, so stay tuned for our future big moves and grow with us! Shop our online collection, give us a call for more complex orders, stop by in store, OR catch us at the North Carolina State Fair (because who doesn't like 2 weeks of fun chaos and a good turkey leg)
